Set Up My Voice Elements Server for a PRI

Prerequisites to Setting up your Server

To connect a PRI T1 to your Voice Elements Server, you will need a Dialogic interface board. For help and information about different options or acquiring a board, you may contact [Inventive Labs sales].

Once you have installed the board and provisioned your PRI, you will need to configure and start the Dialogic drivers and insure they start correctly before configuring your Voice Elements Server.

Configuring your VE Server

Once your Dialogic foundation is set up, change the following settings in your VoiceElementsServer.exe.config file located in the root directory of your server installation. By default, this is C:\Program Files\Inventive Labs\Voice Elements Server.

Step 1 Set ISDN to True

<setting name="ISDN" serializeAs="String">
     <value>True</value>
</setting>

Step 2 Set IgnoreResource for D Channel

<setting name="IgnoreResources" serializeAs="String">
     <value>dtiB1T24</value>
</setting>

Unlike robbed bit T1’s PRIs use the 24th channel for data, known as the D channel. Setting this to ignore tells Voice Elements not to place calls on that channel. Note that if you have a dual span board, you will need to set it to “dtiB1T24 dtiB2T24”. Separate by a space and no trailing or leading spaces are accepted.

Step 3 Set GlobalCall to True (DM3 Boards Only)

<setting name="GlobalCall" serializeAs="String">
     <value>True</value>
</setting>

This setting is only required for Dialogic DM3 boards. If you have another board, set this to false.

Step 4 Set GlobalCallProtocol to DM3 (DM3 Boards Only)

<setting name="GlobalCallProtocol" serializeAs="String">
     <value>DM3</value>
</setting>

This setting is only required for Dialogic DM3 boards. If you have another board, do not set this. If you have setup a custom GlobalCall configuration file, set this setting to the file name without the “.config” extension. No path, just the file name.

Step 5 Double Check InitializeForSIP in the CTI23.ini file is set to 0.

0 = Off (Non-HMP Mode)
1 = On (HMP Mode)

Example: InitializeForSip=0

If you have no SIP running on your server, you will want this set to 0. This setting is located in the CTI23.ini file. located in the \logs directory of your server installation. By default, this is C:\Program Files\Inventive Labs\Voice Elements Server\Logs.
That’s it, you’re done.
